 World Biofuel Day


❖ Every year on 10 August 'World Biofuel Day' is observed.
❖ It is celebrated to raise awareness about the importance of non-fossil fuels as an alternative to traditional fossil fuels.
❖ This day is celebrated in honor of 'Sir Rudolf Diesel'. He was the inventor of the diesel engine and the first to predict the possibility of using vegetable oil as a substitute for fossil fuels.

❖  Benefits of Biofuels –
- Biofuels can be produced from any type of organic material such as agricultural waste or vegetation including trees and crops.
- It causes less harmful carbon emissions than standard diesel.
- Its use provides relief from environmental pollution.
