 World Animal Welfare Day


▪️ World Animal Welfare Day is observed all over the world on 4 October every year.

▪️ This day is observed all over the world on the occasion of the birthday of St. Francis, the great patron of animals.

▪️ Celebrating World Animal Welfare Day was started in the year 1931 AD in the conference of ecologists in Florence, Italy. The United Nations launched a number of campaigns under the rules and guidelines of the “Universal Declaration on Animal Welfare”.

▪️ Globally, intellectuals of the world started celebrating this day to protest against the atrocities on animals and to protect them. It is also called Animal Lovers' Day.

▪️ Animals have a special contribution in the protection and promotion of humanity all over the world, today a major factor in the prosperity of human beings is that from natural disasters where humans save themselves in some way but they are not able to save animals, they are left as second-class creatures, keeping all these things in mind, this day is observed all over the world.

▪️ In India, the Cruelty to Animals Act 1835 and the Animal Protection Act 1911 are the main laws for the protection of animals.
