Railway Protection Force Raising Day 

▶️Every year in India, 20 September is observed as 'Railway Protection Force (RPF) Raising Day'.
▶️RPF is a Central Security Force, which functions under the Ministry of Railways, Government of India.
▶️The history of RPF dates back to the year 1882 when various railway companies appointed their own guards for the protection of railway property.
▶️The Railway Protection Force was declared a statutory force by Act of Parliament in the year 1957, which was declared a security force of the Union of India on 20 September 1985.
▶️The responsibility of security of railway property has been entrusted to RPF.
▶️The present Director General of Railway Protection Force is Manoj Yadav.
